The other week at church, my parents-in-law were introducing me to friends of theirs. At the same time, I had my not-quite 2-year-old daughter in my arms. After exchanging pleasantries with them, I found my daughter began to get rather squirmy, so I asked her if she was ready to go home and have lunch. Of course, to phrase it so that she would understand, I had to say, “Go home and have nom-noms?” She happily replied, “Yes! Nom-noms!”
The other couple looked at me quizzically. “Sorry, but what are ‘nom-noms’?”
I proceeded to explain, “Food. It’s from Sesame Street. The one character on there, Cookie Monster, whenever he eats, he goes, Om nom nom nom!” And naturally, being the muppet-headed freak that I am, had launched into a full-on impersonation of Cookie Monster. Complete with googly eyes.
In the church sanctuary.
In front of a very nice older couple whom I met not 30 seconds prior.
It seems the word “FAIL” should apply here, somehow.

This made me smile, thanks for sharing!
