Reticulating Splines: The Truth Revealed!

I’ve been a big fan of the Sims games since waaaaay back to the original SimCity. Yeah, I’m old and hardcore. What can I say. I noticed the phrase “Reticulating Splines” showing up in SimCity 2000, and have enjoyed seeing it pop up here and there in various forms throughout the rest of the Sims games. (Btw, to those who are far too nerdy to not point out that there are in fact such things as “splines” I say, enjoy your self-righteous, yet hollow, little rant. Ahem.)

When I was loading The Sims 3, I was initially disappointed by the lack of splines or the reticulating thereof. It wasn’t until the 4th time loading the game that I saw it go by. Turns out the game loads too quickly on my iMac for me to see the phrase all the time. This is a problem I’m okay with. Heh.
